Urban Top is a Brooklyn rooftop bar with a clear view of the Manhattan skyline. The owners wanted year-round operation — but the building's rooftop is exposed, NYC wind code applies, and the DOB approval process for any structural addition above the roof line is notoriously slow.
Breslow handled the full NYC DOB submission — PE-stamped engineering, structural drawings, expediter work — alongside the install. We integrated the pergola so the louvers, when open, perfectly frame the skyline view; when closed, the rooftop functions as an enclosed lounge with infrared heat through Brooklyn winters. The bar now hosts year-round.
